Hello magical friends, and welcome to episode 43 of WZRD Radio. I’m your hostwitch Bess and I’m…extraordinarily sleepy, at the moment. It’s a little known fact that hostwitches are prone to hibernation in the winter, but I’m staying awake just long enough to record this.
Let’s get started. Here’s Stephanie and the Quaffles with “The Weapon.”
This month’s wandoscope is for my magical friends with wands of ivy.
You are an uncommon breed, ivy wand. You are well-grounded, but you know how to make a silver lining. You’re also very good at setting healthy boundaries. I imagine that took some practice, so good for you. February might be the shortest month, but that’s no reason to not take it seriously. A season of change is coming before you know it, and now is the time to lay the groundwork for success. And when a unicorn hair or laurel, someone steady, comes to you with a cool opportunity you’ll be in the perfect position to grab it.
Our next music break begins with The Owl Post and “Don’t Leave.”
February is looking exciting, magical friends! Here are just a few of the upcoming events:
On February 2nd, the South Dublin libraries are hosting a “Harry Potter crafts” virtual event. You have to bring your own supplies, but who doesn’t want to make a Cornish pixie nightlight? [link]
A virtual Swedish Harry Potter book group is starting on February 3rd! [link]
If you’re in Sunderland in the UK, The Athenaeum is doing an all-ages Harry Potter art exhibit AND workshop on the 4th. I’m told there will be potions and snacks as well. [link]
If you’re in NYC on February 5th, check out the Harry Potter drag brunch at Stella 34 Trattoria! [link]
If you don’t feel like going outside on February 5th, there’s going to be a Harry Potter garage sale on Facebook, which is the perfect way to pick up some cool merch without supporting transphobia. [link]
The Sheffield Hallum Quidditch Society is hosting an open practice on the 16th, if you happen to be in Sheffield in the UK that day. [link]
Starting on February 1st and running through May 10th, Centar Madrugada in Split, Croatia is hosting a series of conversations on mental health and Harry Potter. [link]

Candle Wix released “Sir Cadogan Tango or the Chronicle of the Many Incredible and Never-Before-Heard Adventures and Daring Deeds of the Heroic and Honorable Sir Cadogan of Hogwarts During The Final Battle Against the Dark Lord in the Year 1998, Without Which the Forces of Magical Good Would Have Been Doomed to Certain Death.” [link]
