Episode 139: Sapphic Magic

Hello magical friends and welcome to episode 139 of WZRD Radio! I’m your hostwitch Bess and I hope you’re all having a fabulous day.

This month’s music is kicking off with Slytherpuff and “Rock the House,” so let’s get started.

~*~

That was “Rock the House” by SlytherPuff, The Swedish Shortsnouts and “Scream Like a Mandrake” [lyrics], and “Ministry Has Fallen” from Pussycat Dolores [lyrics].

It’s time once again to get a reading recommendation from that wandering wix, our correspondent in the field, DQ!

How perfectly thematic, thanks DQ!

While you add that to your TBR, here’s They Might Be Half-Giants with their song “Slytherin.”

~*~

You were just listening to They Might Be Half-Giants and “Slytherin” [lyrics], “Halloween” from homo qui vixit [lyrics], and Losing Lara with her song “Owl Post Mishaps” [lyrics].

While April isn’t a particularly important month in the Harry Potter calendar, there’s always something to do in our fandom! Here are just a few of the upcoming events. I also highly recommend taking advantage of the weather and hosting an event yourself!

April 4th there’s a Harry Potter Afternoon Tea on a boat in Penkridge, UK. [link]

If you’re in Walsenburg, CO on April 11th, Dark Realm Collectibles is hosting Harry Potter Day. [link]

Atlanta, GA is hosting a Harry Potter Party on April 17th. [link]

If you want to try your hand at wand-making, Columbus, OH is hosting “Date Night” Turn a Harry Potter Wand” event on April 17th. [link]

April 17th is also a “Harry Potter Paint Pour Night” in Portsmouth, VA. [link]

And there’s a bottomless Harry Potter themed brunch happening in Swansea, UK on April 25th. [link]

And the incredible Striking Down Diggory released “Wizardly Wrappings” last month, so go check that out! [link]

As usual, all these links can be found on the Potterhead Calendar, and while you’re checking those out, here’s our final music break, starting with “Goodbye” by Totally Knuts.

~*~

That was Totally Knuts with “Goodbye,” “Pretty Good at Quidditch” from Dots & Lines [lyrics], and Aguamenti’s “Sapphic Magic” [lyrics].

And that’s the end of our episode! Thank you so much for spending this time with me.

Until next time, magical friends: I’m going to bed.
