Hello magical friends, and welcome to episode 82 of WZRD Radio. I’m your hostwitch Bess, and I am getting excited for costume season, part 2! (Part 1, of course, being conventions.)
While you’re planning your next soiree, here’s some music to listen to.
First up is“Whatever Happens” by Split Seven Ways.
Hello magical friends, especially my magical patrons who make these interview episodes possible! I’m your hostwitch Bess, and today’s interviewee has a very cool history with wizard rock that I can’t wait to share with you.
Coincidentally, I also can’t wait to share this music with you!
This is “I Wish I Was a Gryffindor” by Daniel Kelly.
Hello magical friends, and welcome to episode 80 of WZRD Radio! I’m your Hostwitch Bess, and September is here! Normally I’d say that means fall has arrived but, well, I live in Florida.
I hope you all have sufficient air conditioning where you are!
Anyway, here’s our first set of music. This is “One Last Summer,” by Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls.
Hello magical friends, especially my wonderful patrons who make these interviews possible. I’m your hostwitch Bess and today I’m talking with a very cool trio– Potterwatch!
We had so much to talk about, so let’s dive right into the music!
This is “I’m A Puff and I’m Staying” by Dream Quaffle.
Hello magical friends, espeically my magical patrons who make these interviews possible. Welcome to episode 77 of WZRD Radio! I’m your hostwitch Bess, and I’m so sorry this episode is late! It turns out they’re not joking—Hogwarts really does mess up muggle tech. But Slytherspouse managed some tricky tech surgery and we’re finally back.
Let’s get back in the groove, with Gyantess and “King’s Cross.”
Hello magical friends, and welcome to episode 76 of WZRD Radio. I’m your hostwitch Bess, and I am stuck on this intro, so let’s go with a Puffs welcome: hi!
There’s a lot of fun stuff going on this month, so let’s not waste another minute!
Here’s Dots & Lines and “Pretty Good At Quidditch.”
Hello magical friends, and welcome to episode 75 of WZRD Radio! I’m your hostwitch Bess and this month I’m talking to some of wizard rock’s most enthusiastic innovators—The Swedish Shortsnouts! We had such a wonderful conversation and I can’t wait to share it with you.
Of course, first we’ve got some music to listen to, so without further ado, here’s Alex Boyd and “I Could Use A House Elf.”
Hello magical friends, and welcome to episode 74 of WZRD Radio! I’m your hostwitch Bess and before we get to the music, I want to point you to a petition.
Other folks, including the Goblet of Wine podcast, have said it better, but Harry Potter, and the Harry Potter fandom, are rapidly becoming synonymous with transphobia, anti-Semitism, and bigotry thanks to Rowling and the creators of Hogwarts Legacy. The fact that HBO think that that is a good platform for a new TV show is alarming.
It’s up to us to let people know this is not what the fandom is about, which is why I’m a proud signatory of the HP Fans Against Transphobia petition, asking HBO to reconsider. I’ve put the link in the show notes, and I hope you’ll join me. Until the Harry Potter franchise is no longer used to fund hatred, supporting new projects just isn’t worth the cost. [link]
I’m sorry I’m starting us off on such a grim note, but fandom joy comes with responsibilities and I’m not willing to look away.
At last, here’s the music. First up is “Patronus for the Day” by Penelope Clearwater Revival.
