Well this has been an adventure, but we’re here! It’s time for episode two, so check under the cut for the transcript and links to all the music and events.
Transcript:
Hello magical friends, and welcome back to WZRD Radio! I’m your hostwitch Bess and I’m so glad to be hanging out with you again.
Thank you so much for the magical welcome last month! It gave me more warm fuzzies than a newborn litter of Crups.
Today we’re starting with “The Boy Who Lived” by the Moaning Myrtles so grab your flying motorcycle and let’s head for Privet Drive.
~
That was “The Boy Who Lived” by the Moaning Myrtles [lyrics], followed by Catchlove with “Wake Up Harry” [lyrics], and Paige 394’s “Hagrid’s Keys” [lyrics].
For this month’s wandoscopes, we’ll be diving into the weeks ahead for our friends with alder wood wands.
Oh alders. You make a good effort to get along with everyone but this month you’re going to meet some of the grumpiest, most steadfastly hateful people you’ve ever met.
You may not be able to convert them into friends but don’t let it damage your self-worth. If you’re struggling, look to the nearest spruce or jackalope antler for comfort.
Toward the middle of the month you’re going to meet someone with an unusual proposition, so keep an eye on anyone with a unique perspective like wampus cat hair cores and walnut and vine woods.
It’s up to you whether you sign on with their vision, but whatever you choose, you won’t be closing out the month in the same space where you started.
Next up is “Train Ride” by The HufflePunks.
~
That was “Train Ride” by The Hufflepunks, “Why Won’t You Shake My Hand” by Draco and the Malfoys [lyrics], “Troll in the Dungeons” by Stephanie and the Quaffles [lyrics], and “Wizard Chess” by Harry and the Potters [lyrics].
Normally this is the part of the show where I list upcoming Harry Potter and wizard rock events, and you can still find all of those on the Potterhead Calendar on the website. However, since we’re all staying indoors to protect our friends and family, this month I have a few ways to stay engaged and entertained while maintaining social distancing, and I’ll include links to all of these in the episode’s transcript.
The Blibbering Humdingers are doing weekly virtual concerts where you can request songs and wrock out to your favorites. [Link to Blibbering Humdingers’ Facebook page]
The Harry Potter Alliance is running a free online convention right now! There’s a panel on writing coming up, and a birthday party for the Weasley Twins tonight, so prepare your best pranks. [Link to Tiny Things Con]
The HPA also created a Discord so even after the con we can still nerd out together. [Link to HPA Discord]
The Quibbler podcast shared a Hogwarts digital escape room that was put together by a Pennsylvanian librarian who is now my personal hero. [Link to escape room]
And finally, Ashley Hamel of Ashley Trix and the Wizards has her monthly Lunch Hour Live concert coming up. She doesn’t know exactly when it’ll be though, so keep an eye on her Facebook page for details. [Link to Ashley Hamel’s Facebook page]
If you’re running a virtual event or know of an online community where Potterheads can geek out together, please share it with me on social media! And let me know how you do in that escape room.
Up next is “Putting Fluffy to Sleep” by Roonil Wazlib, so don’t touch that dial!
~
That was Roonil Wazlib’s “Putting Fluffy to Sleep” [lyrics], followed by “There’s a Face on the Back of my Head” by the Blibbering Humdingers, and “To Have a Home” by Team Starkid [lyrics].
Once again we’ve come to the end of our show. Thank you so much for being here and sharing it with me.
Starting this month, the music of each episode has a specific theme. It could be a character, a ship, or something else entirely. If you think you know what it is, tag me on Twitter and let me know!
And as always, check out the artists through the links in the transcript, at WZRDRadioPod.WordPress.com. Without them, we wouldn’t be here.
If you’ve got a request, opinions, a Potter event or wrock show I should share, or just want to say hi, you can find me on Twitter, Tumblr, and WordPress at WZRDRadioPod. If you’re not on social media you can email me at WZRDRadioPod at Gmail.com
Until next time friends, remember: what’s coming will come and we’ll meet it when it does.
End transcript.
Intro and outro music are from Higher Up, by Shane Ivers.
