Hello magical friends, and welcome to episode 61 of WZRD Radio! I’m your hostwitch Bess and I hope you’re all ready for harvest festivals! They’re my favorite.
Before we get to the music, I’d like to share a project from some dear podcast friends:
Goblet of Wine lost a member of their community last year, and are running a fundraiser for Mermaids in their memory. I’m including a link in the transcript, and the show notes, and I hope you donate if you can. It’s so important, as part of the Harry Potter fandom, to be acutely aware of what damage giving any money to the franchise does, and to fight transphobia at every turn. [link]
While you’re checking out that link, here’s “Bubble Gum Wrappers” by The House of Black.
This month’s wandoscope is for magical friends who carry wands of red oak.
According to wand lore, you have unusually quick reactions, are adaptable, and have a style all your own. You’re someone everyone wants watching their back.
This month, however, those fast reaction times might get you into trouble. Quick reactions are good, but make sure you have all the information before flying off to do something about it. Do some verification and fact-gathering before jumping into a panic, okay? You’ll save yourself some embarrassment down the road, I promise.
This next block of music begins with Creevey Crisis and “True Gryffindor.”
Here’s what we’ve got brewing in the fandom for November:
If you love murder mysteries, there’s a Harry Potter Murder Mystery Party on November 2nd in Avon, Colorado! [link]
For anyone who wants to cook like Molly, there’s a ”Cook the Book: Harry Potter” event on the 3rd in Springfield, Illinois. [link]
Conjuration is coming to Atlanta, Georgia from November 4th – 6th with a whole host of magical performers, including Draco and the Malfoys, Hawthorn and Holly, and The Blibbering Humdingers. [link]

If you’re around Middleton in the UK on November19th and 20th, check out the Wizard Themed Craft Weekend. Wizard dress encouraged. [link]
On November 22nd, the New York Order of the Phoenix is hosting “Harry Potter TED Talks,” where members sign up to either lecture or start a discussion on their favorite HP topics. [link]
The Blibbering Humdingers are guests of honor at ChessieCon this year! Go check them out in Hunt Valley, Maryland from the 25th through 27th. [link]

It’s two muggle dollars a month also supports the Yes All Witches grant in their quest to provide microgrants and mentorship to queer and BIPoC wizard rockers.
