Hello magical friends, especially my wonderful patrons who make these interviews possible. I’m your hostwitch Bess and today I’m talking with a very cool trio– Potterwatch!
We had so much to talk about, so let’s dive right into the music!
This is “I’m A Puff and I’m Staying” by Dream Quaffle.
Hello magical friends, and welcome to episode 74 of WZRD Radio! I’m your hostwitch Bess and before we get to the music, I want to point you to a petition.
Other folks, including the Goblet of Wine podcast, have said it better, but Harry Potter, and the Harry Potter fandom, are rapidly becoming synonymous with transphobia, anti-Semitism, and bigotry thanks to Rowling and the creators of Hogwarts Legacy. The fact that HBO think that that is a good platform for a new TV show is alarming.
It’s up to us to let people know this is not what the fandom is about, which is why I’m a proud signatory of the HP Fans Against Transphobia petition, asking HBO to reconsider. I’ve put the link in the show notes, and I hope you’ll join me. Until the Harry Potter franchise is no longer used to fund hatred, supporting new projects just isn’t worth the cost. [link]
I’m sorry I’m starting us off on such a grim note, but fandom joy comes with responsibilities and I’m not willing to look away.
At last, here’s the music. First up is “Patronus for the Day” by Penelope Clearwater Revival.
Hello magical friends, and welcome to this year’s birthday bonus of WZRD Radio! I’m your hostwitch Bess and I hope you’re all ready for this epic episode! TC from Pottership and I talk about our unpopular Harry Potter opinions. Personally, I had a blast and I hope you do too.
We’re going to dive right into it, after the music.
Hello magical friends, especially Lan and John, WZRD’s newest patrons, whose support lets me do these interview episodes!
I’m your hostwitch Bess and today I got to have a lovely chat with someone who’s seen the whole spectrum of wizard rock—and apparently made a fair bit of it!
Today’s guest is Patrick of The Hinky Punks.
Before we dig into the history of the Hinky Punks, I’ve curated a lovely collection of music for you, beginning with “Harry Potter’s Got A Firebolt” By Emeric Switch.
Hello magical friends, and welcome to episode 65 of WZRD Radio. I’m your hostwitch Bess and we’re kicking off this year with an extra special guest: Lauren Fairweather! They are such a joy; I’m so glad they agreed to talk with me.
I can’t wait to share our conversation with you. First, however, it’s music time.
Hello magical friends, and welcome to a very special bonus episode of WZRD Radio! I’m your hostwitch Bess and today I’m talking to some of the funniest witches in podcasting. What better way to celebrate WZRD’s second birthday than with some fic?
Hold onto your toast, magical friends! Here’s “Poetry in Motion” by How Airplanes Fly.
Hello magical friends, especially Libby, WZRD’s newest patron, whose support lets me do these interviews. I’m your hostwitch Bess and today I’ve got Pottörhead coming in for a chat! How’s that for a special guest?
Hold on to your party poppers, because we’re kicking this episode off with Totally Knuts and “The Riddle House.”
Hello magical friends! Especially Nancy, the newest member of the WZRD Patreon, whose support lets me do these interviews. I’m your hostwitch Bess and today I’m talking to Slytherpuff! It’s good to see such strong inter-house cooperation, don’t you think?
I also need to notes that I had significant technical difficulties this week, so while I’ve done my best, the sound quality is a little strange in the second half of the interview. Fortunately, it’s just on my end so you’ll be able to enjoy Slytherpuff just fine.
Hello magical friends, and welcome to 2022! I hope it’s a nice year for all of us.
We’re kicking off this year of wizard rock with a set list put together by my magical patron Geoff. This is the theme that won my giveaway, so I hope you’re ready!
We’re starting with Switchblade Kittens and “Ode to Harry.”
